It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Another Blog

(Christmas in Australia!!)

Happy December. My birthday has passed so now I'm 34. I should have (again, assuming I've estimated this right) just under a year left to finish this 55 Genres challenge.

Today is the last day for the genre Legal Drama.

I am mid way through writing the short. It is about 3 Angels and 3 Demons who act as a jury deliberating over whether a deceased soul (Charlie) should be sent to Heaven or Hell. I wasn't keen on doing a comedy but I think this short should be somewhat comedic anyway. It's gone too comedic than what I would say is a legal drama. Legal comedy more like and even then the legal side of things is quite shaky. So if I was being my normal strict self I would say I'm failing this genre test but...point of this whole challenge is just to write write write. If I get no score for this genre, I can more onto the next one anyway. Speaking of which the next genre is Medical Drama. Due on the 16th of December.

So moving away from the writing work to another venture of mine:

TYRANTS IN TRAINING PODCAST

I have started this podcast with the release of the first episode. The first episode guest is combat veteran, filmmaker and CCO of HERC Studios Brian Cutter. The episode worked really well I think, especially when it got to poor Paul and his mistakes with the country (Doom Island) finances. I am really thankful for this episode because it helped to flesh out the idea I want to run with. That there are recurring characters in each episode that help run everyone's island. Paul the finance guy. I think in later episodes a really, really old senator called Ken shows up. Lauren in the foreign affairs department and Brian roams about too.

But Paul is forever known as the poor, overworked administrator overseeing most of the government activities on Doom Island. He also ended up getting taxed a lot more due to recent tax increases imposed by my guest, Captain Doom (that'd be Brian)

I hope to release these episodes each Wednesday. I also want to do a special episode now and again where I take the Tyrants In Training format but pose different scenarios. Instead of being a tyrant guests can be a new Santa Claus. A new ruler of their onw kingdom in Middle-Earth. Headmaster of a new school in Hogwarts. A leader of survivors in a zombie apocalypse. A Tyrant of their own plane within Star Wars.

I think there is a lot of room to pose new scenarios and always going back to the open world of "guest runs their own country".
