Oh crap it's now on 15%!

OK, new blog. I'm feeling sickly since Friday night which meant I could not go over to Paris this weekend to take in the Film Fantastique Du France festival where I won Best Writer (thanks).

Oh well, I can just go some other time. I decided I'd use this weekend instead to rewrite my zombie horror short because I quite like it. I might enter that into a contest too. I'm also moving onto my next genre, this will be number 14 out of 55. It is a mockumentary.

So, I actually had an idea for a mockumentary script some time ago I never got around to. Funnily enough it also involved zombies. Like everyone with taste, I quite enjoy Christopher Guest comedies and I thought, well he is great at these comedic mockumentaries about real life. What if I was to do the same but in these fantasy lands. So I thought of one in a Waling Dead type of post apocalypse. One with a few characters to follow:

The lone wolf badass who protects one young girl....plus seventeen other kids.

The former evil dictator of his settlement who is now trying his best to stay good.

A non conforming survivalist who lives in the woods. He refuses to follow settlements rules of wearing polo neck jumpers.

And others! I have until next Sunday to finish that genre anyway. I notice I'm now about 25% complete in my challenge. So if it was one feature length script I'm into act 2 almost, so I wonder how the quality will go now. Will it dwindle? I also feel like I'm ready to move away from comedy writing for a little. But after this I have a parody movie to right. Speaking of which I watched Scary Movie 2 recently. I have no idea why. I'm probably going to watch them all as I like to watch spoof movies and see what I like and don't like. I think it's good to get my own feelings on spoof comedy writing more concrete. I know one view I have. I would not write a joke that relies on current events or current pop culture. I really dislike it. Of course comedy as a genre could be viewed as the genre that ages the worst but I feel writing jokes about Wazzup Bud adverts and "You are the weakest link, goodbye" are really not for me.

Now to make sure I've a picture added. My apologies for the short blog but as I mentioned, I have been a little under the weather and so I am going to use that as my excuse to finish this one up quick. Next week I will go for longer!
